1 এক জন জ্ঞানী মহিলা তার জ্ঞান দিয়েই নিজের সংসার তৈরী করে|
2 য়ে প্রভুকে সম্মান করে সেই সঠিক পথে জীবনযাপন করে| কিন্তু একজন অসত্‌ লোক প্রভুকে ঘৃণা করে|
3 এক জন বোকা লোকের কথাবার্তা তার নিজের সমস্যার কারণ হয়ে ওঠে| কিন্তু একজন জ্ঞানী লোকের কথাবার্তা তাঁকে রক্ষা করে|
4 চাষের কাজে বলদের অভাব দেখা দিলে শস্যভাণ্ডার খালি থাকবে| বৃহত্‌ ফলনের জন্য মানুষ বলদের শক্তিকে ব্যবহার করতে পারে|
5 এক জন সত্যবাদী কখনও মিথ্যে বলে না এবং সে একজন সাক্ষী হতে পারে| কিন্তু একজন অবিশ্বাসী লোক কখনও সত্যি বলে না এবং সে ভাল সাক্ষী হতে পারে না|
6 উদ্ধত লোকরা জ্ঞানের অন্বেষণ করতে পারে কিন্তু তারা কখনও তা খুঁজে পাবে না| কিন্তু য়ে সব লোকদের বোধ শক্তি আছে তারা তাড়াতাড়ি শিখতে পারে|
7 বোকাদের কাছ থেকে কিছুই শেখার নেই তাই বোকাদের সঙ্গে বন্ধুত্ব কোরো না|
8 এক জন বিচক্ষণ ও দক্ষ লোকের জীবনযাত্রা নিরীক্ষণ কর| কিন্তু এক জন বোকা লোকের আঁকা-বাঁকা জীবন পথ প্রতারণাপূর্বক|
9 বোকা লোকরা তাদের বোকামির মাশুল দিতে গিয়ে হাসাহাসি করে| কিন্তু সত্‌ লোকরা শীঘ্রই ক্ষমতাপ্রাপ্ত হয়|
10 এক জন দুঃখী লোক শুধুই তার নিজের দুঃখ অনুভব করতে পারে| ঠিক তেমনি, কেউই অন্য লোকের হৃদয়ের অন্তঃস্থলের আনন্দে ভাগ বসাতে পারে না|
11 দুর্জনদের গৃহগুলির বিনাশ হবেই| কিন্তু সত্‌ লোকদের বাড়ীগুলি উন্নতি করবে|
12 একটি সহজ রাস্তাকেসঠিক রাস্তা বলে মনে হতে পারে কিন্তু সেটি মৃত্যুর দিকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে য়েতে পারে|
13 বিষাদে পূর্ণ একটি লোক হাসতে পারে, কিন্তু হাসি থামবার পরে দুঃখ আবার ফিরে আসে|
14 মন্দ কাজের জন্য পাপীদের পুরোদস্তুর শাস্তি ভোগ করতে হবে এবং ভালো কাজের জন্য সজ্জনরা পুরস্কৃত হবেই|
15 এক জন মূর্খ যা শোনে তাই বিশ্বাস করে| কিন্তু এক জন জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তি যা কিছু শোনে তা তার বুদ্ধি দিয়ে বিবেচনা করে|
16 এক জন জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তি মন্দকে ভয় পায় এবং তাকে এড়িয়ে চলে| কিন্তু এক জন বোকা লোক দৃঢ়তার সঙ্গে কুকর্মের মধ্যে ঝাঁপিযে পড়ে|
17 য়ে সব লোক খুব সহজেই রেগে যায় তারা নির্বোধের মত আচরণ করে| কিন্তু জ্ঞানীরা হয় ধৈর্য়্য়শীল|
18 নির্বোধরা তাদের বোকামির জন্য শাস্তি পায়| কিন্তু জ্ঞানীরা তাঁদের জ্ঞানের জন্য পুরস্কৃত হয়|
19 দুর্জনদের বিরুদ্ধে সজ্জনদের জয় হবেই| দুর্জনরা সজ্জনদের কাছে মাথা নত করতে বাধ্য হবেই|
20 দরিদ্রদের কোন বন্ধু ও প্রতিবেশী জোটে না কিন্তু ধনীরা বন্ধু-বান্ধব দ্বারা পরিবৃত হয়ে থাকে|
21 তোমার প্রতিবেশীদের ঘৃণা করো না| যদি সুখী হতে চাও তাহলে দরিদ্রদের প্রতি সদয থাকো|
22 যদি কেউ খারাপ কাজ করার ফন্দি আঁটে তাহলে সে ভুল করবে| কিন্তু য়ে ভালো কাজ করার চেষ্টা করবে সে বন্ধু পাবে, সবাই তাকে ভালোবাসবে ও বিশ্বাস করবে|
23 কঠিন পরিশ্রম সব সময় কিছু লাভ আনবে| কিন্তু তুমি যদি কোন কাজ না করে শুধু কথা বল তাহলে তুমি দরিদ্র হয়ে যাবে|
24 জ্ঞানীরা সম্পদ দ্বারা পুরস্কৃত হয়| কিন্তু মুর্খরা পুরস্কৃত হয় বোকামির দ্বারা|
25 য়ে সত্য বলে সে মানুষকে সাহায্য করে আর য়ে মিথ্যে বলে সে অন্যদের আঘাত করে|
26 য়ে প্রভুকে সম্মান করে সে সুরক্ষা পায় এবং তার সন্তানরাও নিরাপদ থাকে|
27 প্রভুর প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন সত্য জীবন নিয়ে আসে| এতে একটি ব্যক্তির জীবন মৃত্যুর ফাঁদ থেকে রক্ষা পায়|
28 যদি কোন রাজা অনেক মানুষকে শাসন করে তাহলে সে মহান| কিন্তু রাজার রাজ্যে যদি কোন মানুষ না থাকে তাহলে সেই রাজার কোন মূল্যই থাকে না|
29 ধৈর্য়্য়শীল এক জন মানুষ ভীষণ সপ্রতিভ হয়| আর য়ে সহজে রেগে যায় সে তার মূর্খামির প্রমাণ দেয়|
30 মানসিক শান্তি দৈহিক স্বাস্থ্য়ের উন্নতি করে| কিন্তু অন্যের প্রতি হিংসা শরীরকে রোগগ্রস্ত করে তোলে|
31 ঈশ্বরই প্রত্যেক মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন| তাই যারা গরীবদের জন্য সংকটের সমস্যা সৃষ্টি করে তারা দরিদ্রদের সৃষ্টিকর্তাকে অপমান করে| যারা গরীবদের দযা দেখায় তারা ঈশ্বরের প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন করে|
32 এক জন দুষ্ট লোক তার কু-কর্মের দ্বারা পরাজিত হয়| কিন্তু এক জন ভালো লোক তার মৃত্যুর সময়ও জিতে যায়|
33 জ্ঞানীরা সব সময় জ্ঞানসম্মত ভাবে চিন্তা-ভাবনা করে| কিন্তু মূর্খরা জ্ঞানেরকিছুই জানে না|
34 ভালোত্ব একটি দেশকে মহান করে তোলে| কিন্তু পাপ য়ে কোন মানুষকে লজ্জিত করে|
35 জ্ঞানী আধিকারিক পেলে রাজা সুখী হন| কিন্তু মূর্খ নেতাদের প্রতি রাজা ক্রুদ্ধ হন|
