Exodus 29:1 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 "Now I will tell you what you must do to show that Aaron and his sons serve me in a special way as priests. Find one young bull and two rams that have nothing wrong with them.
2 Then use fine wheat flour without yeast to make bread. And use the same things to make cakes mixed with olive oil. Make small thin cakes spread with oil.
3 Put this bread and the cakes in a basket. Then give the basket to Aaron and his sons. At the same time, give them the bull and the two rams.
4 "Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. Wash them with water.
5 Put the special clothes on Aaron. Put on him the white woven robe and the blue robe that is worn with the ephod. Put the ephod and the judgment pouch on him. Then tie the beautiful cloth belt on him.
6 Put the turban on his head and the special crown around the turban.
7 Take the anointing oil and pour it on Aaron's head. This will show that he is chosen for this work.
8 "Then bring Aaron's sons to that place. Put the white woven robes on them.
9 Then tie cloth belts around their waists. Give them the special hats to wear. At that time they will begin to be priests. They will be priests because of the special law that will continue forever. This is the way you will make Aaron and his sons priests.
10 "Then bring the bull to that place at the front of the Meeting Tent. Aaron and his sons must put their hands on the bull's head.
11 Then kill the bull there in the Lord's presence at the entrance to the Meeting Tent.
12 Then take some of the bull's blood and go to the altar. Use your finger to put some blood on the horns of the altar. Pour all the blood that is left at the bottom of the altar.
13 Then take all the fat from inside the bull, the fatty part of the liver, both kidneys, and the fat around them. Burn this fat on the altar.
14 Then take the bull's meat, his skin, and his other parts and go outside your camp and burn them. This bull is an offering to take away the sins of the priests.
15 "Then tell Aaron and his sons to put their hands on the head of one of the rams.
16 Kill that ram and save the blood. Throw the blood against the altar on all four sides.
17 Then cut the ram into several pieces. Wash all the parts from inside the ram and the legs. Put these things with the head and the other pieces of the ram.
18 Then burn everything on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord. It is a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord.
19 "Tell Aaron and his sons to put their hands on the other ram.
20 Kill that ram and save some of its blood. Put that blood on the right ear lobes of Aaron and his sons. Also put some of the blood on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Then throw blood against all four sides of the altar.
21 Then take some of the blood from the altar. Mix it with the special oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes. And sprinkle it on his sons and their clothes. This will show that Aaron and his sons serve me in a special way. And it will show that their clothes are used only at special times.
22 "Then take the fat from the ram. (This is the ram that will be used in the ceremony to make Aaron the high priest.) Take the fat from around the tail and the fat that covers the organs inside the body. Then take the fat that covers the liver, both kidneys and the fat on them, and the right leg.
23 Then take the basket of bread that you made without yeast. This is the basket you put before the Lord. Take these things out of the basket: one loaf of bread, one cake made with oil, and one small thin cake.
24 Give them to Aaron and his sons. Tell them to hold these things in their hands before the Lord. This will be a special offering to the Lord.
25 Then take them from Aaron and his sons and put them on the altar with the ram. Then burn everything on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord. It is a sweetsmelling gift to the Lord.
26 "Then take the breast from the ram. (This is the ram that will be used in the ceremony to make Aaron the high priest.) Hold the breast of the ram before the Lord as a special offering. Then take it back and keep it. This part of the animal will be for you.
27 Take the breast and the leg of the ram that was used to make Aaron the high priest and make these parts holy. Then give these special parts to Aaron and his sons.
28 The Israelites will always give Aaron and his sons these parts. These parts will always belong to the priests when the Israelites make an offering to the Lord. When they give these parts to the priest, it will be the same as giving them to the Lord.
29 "Save these special clothes that were made for Aaron and his descendants. They will wear these clothes when they are chosen to be priests.
30 Aaron's son will become the next high priest after him. That son will wear these clothes seven days when he comes to the Meeting Tent to serve in the Holy Place.
31 "Cook the meat from the ram that was used to make Aaron the high priest. Cook that meat in a holy place.
32 Then Aaron and his sons must eat the meat at the front door of the Meeting Tent. And they must also eat the bread that is in the basket.
33 These offerings were used to take away their sins when they were made priests. Now they should eat these offerings.
34 If any of the meat from that ram or any of the bread is left the next morning, then it must be burned. You must not eat that bread or the meat because it should be eaten only in a special way at a special time.
35 "You must do all these things for Aaron and his sons. You must do them exactly as I told you. The ceremony for appointing them to be priests must continue for seven days.
36 You must kill one bull every day for seven days. This will be an offering for the sins of Aaron and his sons. You will use these sacrifices to make the altar pure, and pour olive oil on the altar to make it holy.
37 You will make the altar pure and holy for seven days. At that time the altar will be most holy. Anything that touches the altar will also be holy.
38 "Every day you must make an offering on the altar. You must kill two lambs that are one year old.
39 Offer one lamb in the morning and the other in the evening.
40 When you kill the first lamb, also offer 8 cups of fine wheat flour. Mix that flour with 1 quart of the best oil. Also offer 1 quart of wine as an offering. When you kill the second lamb in the evening, also offer the 8 cups of fine flour with 1 quart of the best oil and offer 1 quart of wine. This is the same as you did in the morning. This will be a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord. When you burn this offering, he will smell it, and it will please him.

42 "You must burn these things as an offering to the Lord every day. Do this at the entrance of the Meeting Tent before the Lord. Continue to do this for all time. When you make the offering, I the Lord will meet you there and speak to you.
43 I will meet with the Israelites at that place, and my Glory will make that place holy.
44 "So I will make the Meeting Tent and the altar holy. I will also make Aaron and his sons holy so that they can serve me as priests.
45 I will live with the Israelites. I will be their God.
46 The people will know that I am the Lord, their God. They will know that I am the one who led them out of Egypt so that I could live with them. I am the Lord their God.

4 And Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 thou shalt bring H7126 unto H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 and shalt wash H7364 them with water. H4325
5 And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the garments, H899 and put upon H3847 H853 Aaron H175 H853 the coat, H3801 and the robe H4598 of the ephod, H646 and the ephod, H646 and the breastplate, H2833 and gird H640 him with the curious girdle H2805 of the ephod: H646

9 And thou shalt gird H2296 them with girdles, H73 Aaron H175 and his sons, H1121 and put H2280 the bonnets H4021 on them : and the priest's office H3550 shall be H1961 theirs for a perpetual H5769 statute: H2708 and thou shalt consecrate H4390 H3027 Aaron H175 and his sons. H1121
10 And thou shalt cause H853 a bullock H6499 to be brought H7126 before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation: H4150 and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the bullock. H6499
11 And thou shalt kill H7819 H853 the bullock H6499 before H6440 the LORD, H3068 by the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150
12 And thou shalt take H3947 of the blood H4480 H1818 of the bullock, H6499 and put H5414 it upon H5921 the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 with thy finger, H676 and pour H8210 all H3605 the blood H1818 beside H413 the bottom H3247 of the altar. H4196
13 And thou shalt take H3947 H853 all H3605 the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 H853 the inwards, H7130 and the caul H3508 that is above H5921 the liver, H3516 and the two H8147 kidneys, H3629 and the fat H2459 that H834 is upon H5921 them , and burn H6999 them upon the altar. H4196
14 But the flesh H1320 of the bullock, H6499 and his skin, H5785 and his dung, H6569 shalt thou burn H8313 with fire H784 without H4480 H2351 the camp: H4264 it H1931 is a sin offering. H2403
15 Thou shalt also take H3947 one H259 ram; H352 and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the ram. H352
16 And thou shalt slay H7819 H853 the ram, H352 and thou shalt take H3947 H853 his blood, H1818 and sprinkle H2236 it round about H5439 upon H5921 the altar. H4196
17 And thou shalt cut H5408 the ram H352 in pieces, H5409 and wash H7364 the inwards H7130 of him , and his legs, H3767 and put H5414 them unto H5921 his pieces, H5409 and unto H5921 his head. H7218
18 And thou shalt burn H6999 H853 the whole H3605 ram H352 upon the altar: H4196 it H1931 is a burnt offering H5930 unto the LORD: H3068 it is a sweet H5207 savor, H7381 an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD. H3068
19 And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the other H8145 ram; H352 and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the ram. H352
20 Then shalt thou kill H7819 H853 the ram, H352 and take H3947 of his blood H4480 H1818 , and put H5414 it upon H5921 the tip H8571 of the right ear H241 of Aaron, H175 and upon H5921 the tip H8571 of the right H3233 ear H241 of his sons, H1121 and upon H5921 the thumb H931 of their right H3233 hand, H3027 and upon H5921 the great toe H931 of their right H3233 foot, H7272 and sprinkle H2236 H853 the blood H1818 upon H5921 the altar H4196 round about. 21 And thou shalt take H3947 of H4480 the blood H1818 that H834 is upon H5921 the altar, H4196 and of the anointing oil H4480 H8081, H4888 and sprinkle H5137 it upon H5921 Aaron, H175 and upon H5921 his garments, H899 and upon H5921 his sons, H1121 and upon H5921 the garments H899 of his sons H1121 with H854 him : and he H1931 shall be hallowed, H6942 and his garments, H899 and his sons, H1121 and his sons' H1121 garments H899 with H854 him.
22 Also thou shalt take H3947 of H4480 the ram H352 the fat H2459 and the rump, H451 and the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 H853 the inwards, H7130 and the caul H3508 above the liver, H3516 and the two H8147 kidneys, H3629 and the fat H2459 that H834 is upon H5921 them , and the right H3225 shoulder; H7785 for H3588 it H1931 is a ram H352 of consecration: H4394
23 And one H259 loaf H3603 of bread, H3899 and one H259 cake H2471 of oiled H8081 bread, H3899 and one H259 wafer H7550 out of the basket H4480 H5536 of the unleavened bread H4682 that H834 is before H6440 the LORD: H3068
24 And thou shalt put H7760 all H3605 in H5921 the hands H3709 of Aaron, H175 and in H5921 the hands H3709 of his sons; H1121 and shalt wave H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD. H3068
25 And thou shalt receive H3947 them of their hands H4480 H3027 , and burn H6999 them upon the altar H4196 for H5921 a burnt offering, H5930 for a sweet H5207 savor H7381 before H6440 the LORD: H3068 it H1931 is an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD. H3068
26 And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the breast H2373 of the ram H4480 H352 of Aaron's H175 consecration, H4394 and wave H5130 it for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD: H3068 and it shall be H1961 thy part. H4490
27 And thou shalt sanctify H6942 H853 the breast H2373 of the wave offering, H8573 and the shoulder H7785 of the heave offering, H8641 which H834 is waved, H5130 and which H834 is heaved up, H7311 of the ram H4480 H352 of the consecration, H4394 even of that which H4480 H834 is for Aaron, H175 and of that which H4480 H834 is for his sons: H1121
28 And it shall be H1961 Aaron's H175 and his sons' H1121 by a statute H2706 forever H5769 from H4480 H854 the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 for H3588 it H1931 is a heave offering: H8641 and it shall be H1961 a heave offering H8641 from H4480 H854 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 of the sacrifice H4480 H2077 of their peace offerings, H8002 even their heave offering H8641 unto the LORD. 29 And the holy H6944 garments H899 of Aaron H175 shall be H1961 his sons' H1121 after H310 him , to be anointed H4886 therein , and to be consecrated H4390 H853 H3027 in them.
30 And that son H4480 H1121 that is priest H3548 in his stead H8478 shall put them on H3847 seven H7651 days, H3117 when H834 he cometh H935 into H413 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 to minister H8334 in the holy H6944 place .
31 And thou shalt take H3947 the ram H352 of the consecration, H4394 and seethe H1310 H853 his flesh H1320 in the holy H6918 place. H4725
32 And Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall eat H398 H853 the flesh H1320 of the ram, H352 and the bread H3899 that H834 is in the basket, H5536 by the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150
33 And they shall eat H398 those things wherewith H834 the atonement was made, H3722 to consecrate H4390 H853 H3027 and to sanctify H6942 them : but a stranger H2114 shall not H3808 eat H398 thereof , because H3588 they H1992 are holy. H6944
34 And if H518 aught of the flesh H4480 H1320 of the consecrations, H4394 or of H4480 the bread, H3899 remain H3498 unto H5704 the morning, H1242 then thou shalt burn H8313 H853 the remainder H3498 with fire: H784 it shall not H3808 be eaten, H398 because H3588 it H1931 is holy. H6944
35 And thus H3602 shalt thou do H6213 unto Aaron, H175 and to his sons, H1121 according to all H3605 things which H834 I have commanded H6680 thee: seven H7651 days H3117 shalt thou consecrate H4390 H3027 them.
36 And thou shalt offer H6213 every day H3117 a bullock H6499 for a sin offering H2403 for H5921 atonement: H3725 and thou shalt cleanse H2398 H5921 the altar, H4196 when thou hast made an atonement H3722 for H5921 it , and thou shalt anoint H4886 it , to sanctify H6942 it.
37 Seven H7651 days H3117 thou shalt make an atonement H3722 for H5921 the altar, H4196 and sanctify H6942 it ; and it shall be H1961 an altar H4196 most holy H6944 H6944 : whatsoever H3605 toucheth H5060 the altar H4196 shall be holy. H6942
38 Now this H2088 is that which H834 thou shalt offer H6213 upon H5921 the altar; H4196 two H8147 lambs H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 day by day H3117 continually. H8548
39 H853 The one H259 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 in the morning; H1242 and the other H8145 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 at H996 even: H6153
40 And with the one H259 lamb H3532 a tenth deal H6241 of flour H5560 mingled H1101 with the fourth part H7253 of a hin H1969 of beaten H3795 oil; H8081 and the fourth part H7243 of a hin H1969 of wine H3196 for a drink offering. H5262
41 And the other H8145 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 at H996 even, H6153 and shalt do H6213 thereto according to the meat offering H4503 of the morning, H1242 and according to the drink offering H5262 thereof , for a sweet H5207 savor, H7381 an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD. H3068
42 This shall be a continual H8548 burnt offering H5930 throughout your generations H1755 at the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 before H6440 the LORD: H3068 where H834 H8033 I will meet H3259 you , to speak H1696 there H8033 unto H413 thee.
43 And there H8033 I will meet H3259 with the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and the tabernacle shall be sanctified H6942 by my glory. H3519
44 And I will sanctify H6942 H853 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 and the altar: H4196 I will sanctify H6942 also both Aaron H175 and his sons, H1121 to minister to me in the priest's office. H3547
45 And I will dwell H7931 among H8432 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and will be H1961 their God. H430
46 And they shall know H3045 that H3588 I H589 am the LORD H3068 their God, H430 that H834 brought them forth H3318 H853 out of the land H4480 H776 of Egypt, H4714 that I may dwell H7931 among H8432 them: I H589 am the LORD H3068 their God. H430
